Talking to Children about the Coronavirus

admin18099

  1. Remember that emotions are contagious. The best thing you can do for your child is to remain calm and be a reassuring presence. Don’t leave the television on and bombard yourself and your children with news.

  2. Reassure your children that you, the doctors and the community are doing everything possible to keep them safe.

  3. If they ask questions about the virus, reassure them that most people who get the virus only feel like they have a cold. Most people get better just like you do when you have a cold.

  4. Reassure them that they will have food. There are agencies in all communities that are working to make sure no one goes hungry. If you are in need, avail yourself of these resources.
